Susan, its hard to say what peoples individual tastes are and want from a cruise line. I have been on a brit one which has gone belly up by now. That is not a good descriptor for a cruise for sure. I thought the snootyness of it was kind of strange but ya know us "yanks" are rahther uncouth beasts. Strange menu too. today for breakfast we have a feature of "rollmops". hmmm....seemed to be some kind of fish felate wraped around and unkown substance. Transportes de mexico.....formal seemed to be a Tecate and mystery meat enchiladas..NCL "freestyle cruises seem to be having food so bad that you are almost force you into their specialty restaurants expensive restaurants. I reminded me of being married.
My favorite is carnival. It seems like kind of the middle class of Cruise line and not near as pretentious as others. You can play your rich for a week role or not ....Theyve never turned me down getting in the dining room on formal night so it must not be too snobby. Carnival does have the reputation for being party ships with the most drinking parties and such. Kind of natural I suppose for Singles Cruise but I dont know except on the other lines I havent heard people wandering up and down the corridors shouting "woo hoo lets PARTAY'' about the time I am getting a good snooze going. The lobster night has always been fine for me, but one time it seemed a bit rubbery to me.
The service always seemed good to me, but who knows with other people. I would never have a same sex roomate....ive had enough of that.
Cabin selection? Singles cruise has been pretty good to me especially if you book early. They have a deck map like you do off the carnival web site. Not sure what you get if you book steerage inside room. ship doesnt bother some people. Maybe I have been drunk so many times that it doesnt bother me. I dont if a florida person would be bothered by motion sickness but who knows.
Age.....it seems you are about average age for the all age ones. At this point I am probably the honorary geezer of the bunch. I am 61. So because of the ports on this one....seems pretty good. haha and like said above I can mark them off my "bucket list" John, NM

Donna - you all talked me into it, and I couldn't be happier. You think about travelling alone and then you find a link like this and in 2 days really friendly people are emailing/posting answers to your questions, so I would definitely have to say all of you helped me make the decision to book. I can't wait. Too bad I still have to get through the next few months before we leave. Guess there is plenty of time to shop prior to the trip! Looking forward to meeting all of you!

Hi Deanna,
Thanks for the nice welcome. I live in the Fort Lauderdale area so I will be here ready to join the fun! I love cruising and have been on many, just never with SC. I am so happy I found this opportunity and can't wait to meet everyone. I already feel like I have new friends and I am sure this will be the first of many cruises I take with SC. See you soon!!
