What a wonderful SingleCruise.com group! The Celebrity Solstice is just a beautifully fantastic ship. This was a 60’s plus cruise and they were a ball! The shows were fantastic and food delicious. Our waiter, Sam, went above and beyond to offer us exceptional dining service.
Our first port of call was San Juan we had a wonderful time exploring this fantastic port as well as visit Puerto Rico’s lush and tropical rain forest.
St. Kitts is one of the “unspoiled” islands of the Caribbean. Our group enjoyed an island tour with a short stop at the Plantation Inn (a former sugar plantation) for a relaxing drink on the verandah. Talk about a step back in time!
St. Maarten is always special. Not only does it offer great shopping opportunities, but it also has famous (or is that infamous) Orient Beach! We enjoyed a few hours at the Kakao area of the beach. The weather was fantastic with bright sunshine and gentle blowing breezes. We also enjoyed a yummy lunch and a couple of delicious drinks. Ed, Jan and Jerry just need to learn to put sunscreen on their entire body including the face and other tender spots!
Our days at sea were filled with group and ship activities. Many enjoyed the glass blowing demonstrations and the galley tour. Others enjoyed the pool and trivia games. Our group danced each night away (even talking the band into staying longer than scheduled). We even had a budding romance…and we weren’t even on the “official” love boat!
What a wonderful group! Our cruisers came from all over the United States as well as Canada. We all left with new friends and hopes of getting together on a future cruise. I hope to see everyone again very soon! Watch for our next “Over 40” singles cruise sailing this fall to the Caribbean from Galveston.
