A group of fun-loving singles!

This was a very special cruise - one of our fabulous past cruisers Patty, from Chicago, brought a group of almost 30 wild fun single friends to sail with us!  She wanted to make sure they were all able to thaw out from the Northern freeze. These people were some of the most fun-loving free spirited guests I have ever had. Thank you Patty! We also had 30 new cruisers from all over that joined the group. They were just as wonderful and jumped right into the fun.  I do believe we will have a few long term couples emerge as a result of this cruise. Our singles events were all extremely well attended, and the passion over our “life changing prizes” was tangible. They were such fun!

It was unusually cold in Key West and we all had an excuse to buy a sweat shirt but that didn’t stop the fun. Lee warmed us all up with midmorning drinks at the infamous “Sloppy Joes” and so the fun began! Karaoke was a hit, and Mark was a singing super star! Dance classes were tremendous and we all loved the Dakota band in Passage to India. We danced many nights until they shut the place down. Why didn’t anyone tell me you should sign a waiver before dancing with Jack?! Aaaah… all in good fun. Sandee and I thoroughly enjoyed you all and certainly hope to see you all again soon.

Break from the Winter Cold!

The mid-January Western Caribbean cruise was a well timed break from the massive artic air blowing over much of the United States. One guest left 40 below weather to arrive in Miami and a wonderful 74 degrees. We never saw a drop of rain for the entire cruise and had great weather the entire week.

Everyone attended the orientation mixer and it was a great time to get to know one another. At dinner the first night, our large group of singles were seated right in the middle of the dining room and caused quite a buzz in the dining room. They all wanted to know who the fun group was and how they could get a name necklace!

We had four very different shore trips in the ports of Grand Cayman, Roatan, Belize, and Cozumel. The Stingrays were happy to join us in Grand Cayman.   In Roatan, we had a relaxing laidback day at the beach. The cave tubers in Belize had a great adventure. We all enjoyed a high energy beach party on our last port day in Cozumel.

It was a wonderful vacation and we hope to see you all again soon!

Bringing in New Years at Sea!

3-2-1 Happy New Year! There is no better place to celebrate NYE than on a mega-fun ship! There are no lines, no coat checks, no $50 cover! It really is perfection. This year they actually had the orchestra with all their brass horns up on the open deck. It sounded absolutely fabulous. We had over 200 guests this year and they all came ready to make new friends and make new memories.

They all wore white at our NYE karaoke party which looked so sharp. They were dancing in the aisles and really getting down. Carlos and Charlies’ beach party was tremendous fun. The sun was blazing and the margaritas were too. Some of our girls got into the Tequila shooters, and I have the pictures to prove it! We were able to pet the stingrays in Grand Cayman, which is my personal favorite tour. It is so amazing to be up close and personal to such foreign sea life.

In Ocho Rios, we went tubing and then visited Dunn’s River Falls.  Everyone had a blast and again the weather cooperated beautifully.  We had three guests in the Carnival Legends show…Britney Spears, Madonna and the infamous James Brown a.k.a Chuckster were in the house!

Next year we’re heading to Costa Rica, Panama and Belize. It’s a very popular cruise and it always sells out, so don’t delay booking if you want to ring in 2010 on an unforgettable New Year’s Cruise!

Baby Boomers Are A Riot!

These baby boomers know how to Paaaarty! They bonded right from the start, jokes left and right…most of them “private.” This group had more hot tub clubs than we had on the schedule. They even stole our assistant cruise directors’ clothes when he was in the tub! You guys are just plain trouble! It was all in good fun and good fun it was. Our St. Maarten beach party was great…until it started to pour! What can you do?  We were going to get wet either way. St. Lucia was beautiful, the Pitons, twin mountain peaks are as mesmerizing as everyone said they would be.  St. Kitt’s was a great beach day and then more time to relax at sea before we returned to Ft. Lauderdale.

Ernie and Harvey had so much fun with you, they can’t wait to do it again next year. Check out our next Baby Boomer Cruise coming up on November 8, 2009 - we will be going to the stunning islands of Grand Cayman, Belize, Roatan and Cozumel!

See you there!

Fun Times from San Diego to Mexico

Our single troops battled traffic, airports and flights to make it to the fun-filled Gas Lamp district of downtown San Diego for our pre-cruise festivities. We had a blast so the battle was worth it!

We had a friendly and fun Orientation Mixer to kick off our first night on the ship. I am glad everyone enjoyed the complimentary cocktails and you stepped out on the floor to learn the “Cupid Shuffle” the very first night!

What a fun first few days we had at sea to start our trip. We had breakfast and lunch clubs, karaoke parties, basketball shoot outs (whether you stood or got down on your knees!) - everyone had a blast. Especially the women, who won bragging rights all week for dominating in our “Battle of the Sexes” game!

Acalpulco, Zihauatenejo/Ixtapa, and Manzanillo provided a lot of different fun and excitement for everyone in our group, and everyone made it back on board in time! Cheers to Faith and Trish for taking the prize for their Hawaiian Night costumes! However, we know our "native" Hawaiian Marg will always represent well! Everyone stayed clean and white at the wine cabin crawl even with the red wine, now that is quite a feat!

We enjoyed another great couple days at sea until our final farewell party. Thanks to our appointed "assistant" Thomas for singing to Elton John on stage in the Legends show as our final goodbye. What a great send off.

It was great to meet you all. I hope you all get on SinglesCruise.com’s facebook page and share photo memories from this wonderful trip.

You can find out more by logging in to our Singles Starboard message board, it’s for past SinglesCruise.com passengers! Hope to see you there.

Action-Packed Fun on Halloween!

There were over 450 SinglesCruise.com guests who joined us on our largest sailing of the year on the Carnival Legend over Halloween!  It was action packed fun.

I planned my first wedding reception for two very special past guests. They met on one of our cruises just four years ago. He hails from England and she from Texas. They were married the day before they got onboard and brought 50 past guests from SinglesCruise.com to celebrate with them. It was an emotional reception with true love filling the air. This was all followed by our Angels and Devils Karaoke Party, which was by far the coolest party I’ve seen in ages. People went all out with their costumes, and the Devils definitely outnumbered the Angels!

Our onboard Halloween costume party was a hit, everyone came out in costume to celebrate. One of our winners was dressed with little stuffed animal baby chicks all over his t-shirt, he was a “Chick-Magnet!”  They danced the night away and they are already booking our Halloween 2009 sailing. We can't wait to do it all again next year!

Bahamas and Back on the Fascination

We started out by hitting the Landings in Jacksonville on Wednesday night, and as happened most nights on this cruise, we ended up closing the place down.

We had a great time meeting at Passage to India for our orientation meet and greet. During one of our icebreaker games Ernie had the pleasure (??) of having his picture taken with the Chuckster while he was wearing lipstick, a bra, and holding a fruit in his mouth... please no one save THAT picture!!

Our next day at sea was a LOT calmer than the night before, and we spent the day playing games, speed-dating, and having a BLAST! Everyone was having a blast with the wine crawl where we discovered that battery-operated bottle openers do exist! Everyone looked awesome for Formal Night, and I lost count of the lobsters we took out that night. We had so much great wine left over after the Cabin Crawl, we just HAD to find an excuse to finish it all.

By the time we got to Nassau, everyone was excited to get off the ship and snorkel. Those of us who braved the bus ride to snorkel even got the chance to get into the water with sharks! I am really proud of the first-timers who braved the water and snorkeled...you all did great!

Our next stop was Freeport, Bahamas and our guests had a great time exploring the island from Port Lucayan to the Rocks. By the time we made it back to the ship, we managed to get some of the guys away from Sunday football to join our karaoke party, and even had enough energy for an impromptu party up on the deck that night!

We had an AWESOME time and an AMAZING group on this cruise, and Tara and Ernie can't wait to see you all again soon and "feel the love"!

It was our premier cruise out of Galveston Texas and it surpassed our expectations! The night before the cruise we went to a posh outdoor pool bar near our hotel. Beautiful candle lights, refreshing ocean breeze and great rum runners according to the gals! The guys met up with us later and then I heard there were quite a few romantic walks on the beach! Very nice.

This was a four day cruise so they were in the mood to meet and greet at our first event. We had a little scavenger hunt and that broke the ice for everyone. We hit Cozumel and most of the group went to our fabulous beach party. It was absolutely awesome. Our last night was karaoke and Henry surprised us all with his rendition of Elvis…..Kathy was the back up dancer and the place roared. Selina got the party started and Lynn and Marlene were singing all the great tunes. We had group after group singing their lungs out. It was an excellent celebration.

Many of you begged us to come back to Texas so I brought your feedback to head office. Watch our site b/c there’s a good chance we’ll be back next year!

Thank you for making my first time in Texas so memorable!

Back from the U.S.S.R.

Our pre-cruise hotel in London was nothing short of fabulous. The hotel was new, beautifully furnished; immaculately clean facility with the nicest hotel staff I’ve ever known. The complementary breakfast was a feast fit for a king. This was a great beginning to our 12-night sailing.

Once onboard the new Carnival Splendor we began the first evening with our meet and greet cocktail party. The event was a definite clue as to the rest of the sailing. FUN! FUN! FUN! I did get a shoe thrown at my head during the scavenger hunt, thanks Phil. Hopefully; his actions were just an indication of his enthusiasm.

We traveled to Copenhagen, Finland, Russia, Estonia and Amsterdam. Each port we stopped at was more amazing than the last. The different cultures of people along with the fascinating history of each County were childhood dreams come true. Long days of walking, searching for lost cruisers and much needed time for souvenir shopping for Diane and Brian made for dinner conversation each evening.

One of my favorite ports was St. Petersburg, Russia, barely 300 hundred years old. The city is known as the "Venice of the North" with its many canals and waterways. So much to see in two days was almost overwhelming. The most memorable stops were The Hermitage museum, the Winter Palace and the Summer Garden and Palace of Peter the Great and of course the Church of Our Savior on Spilled Blood with its brightly colored onion domes.

Another favorite port was Amsterdam. So unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. The magnificent art museums, Ann Frank’s house, “coffee houses” where smoking marijuana is accepted and the famous Red light District. Our river cruise was wonderful, informative and relaxing. For me, it’s a definite place to return some day.

Back onboard the ship, exhaustion didn’t seem to stop anyone from having a great evening. Unbeknownst to the group; we had John, a professional “Karaokest” who entertained us nightly with his vast array of song selections. We could always count on Dee to dance the night away in the disco. One night, to everyone’s surprise, for no apparent reason, one of our cruisers came to dinner dressed as Elvis. I believe our “Wine Tasting” party will long be remembered by the crew of the Carnival Splendor!

I know that many people in our group made friendships that will last a lifetime. I hope to see everyone in our group again, aboard another SinglesCruise.com adventure.

And to Sandy, our newest Singles Star, I’m just sayin’ it was a great cruise.

Can you say "Muy Caliente?" (Very Hot?)

Our pre-cruise group stayed in the hippest, hottest night spot north of Rio, the South Beach Art Deco District, formed straight out of the 1930's for the city's most stylish scene. In South Beach life is celebrated as one big ultra hip 24/7 party with a Technicolor backdrop. Very Euro-cool! Because it was July 4th the energy was extra "electrifying!" We indulged enjoying Mother Natures own fireworks in the sky including thunder and lightening that couldn't be beat. We stayed at the Essex House where Tommy, one of our cruise guests told us his production company had filmed, "There's Something About Mary" years before starring Cameron Diaz.

The 5 day cruise offered a wonderful adventure for a great number of educators and doctors and nurses who otherwise could not join us throughout the school year, along with a variety of others. The shore excursions which are specifically built to suit our own SinglesCruise.com group, really created a bond which carried us throughout the week. It was almost like a secret society which created a buzz, for those who did not include these excursions in their plans, soon regretted it upon our return. With just a look we would break out in laughter that said, "you had to be there" to understand it. Many of our guests stated that they would not want to miss that the next time.

Memories were certainly made….remember the Ping-pong tournament? The crowd gathered as there was "talkin' smack" all week long! The mounting pressure building by game time. Dr. Rafa, who I believe never loses at anything he sets his mind to, did have a temporary set-back when Susanna got by him and scored a point. She rushed over to him and did her own version of the "Pong Dance!" Tons of invaluable memories that we can only hope to repeat again in our lifetimes. I am sailing again on Halloween, come and join me!--Ingrid Cruise Director

This was one of our West Coast experiences, San Diego, watch out! The weather was beautiful, cool and crisp and our hotel was in the heart of all the action.

Our first cocktail party revealed the party people. Janet's team won it all, they dressed one of our studs up in lipstick in a brazier! You guys will do ANYTHING for a free t-shirt! We certainly had a laugh.

Our first port of Cozumel was absolutely stunning. The water was unimaginably blue. Some of us went on a boat trip to see lands end. Rod and Neil got there groove on the jet skies, open water, wind in their hair, life is good! Kathy and a few friends represented at Cabo Wabo, can you say "body shots!" You go girl!

Greg and Steve rocked the Romeo and Juliet Band all week long. They had us all dancing the night away, thanks guys! The ships hypnotist was quite a laugh, I warned you all not to volunteer……remember u-tube exists now! You just never listen. J

Ensenada was a bit chillier poor little Renee and Celeste were chilly willy, but we all warmed up a little later at our Karaoke party. We had some serious talent. Tito was quite the entertainer. I can hear you all now singing "Copacabana." We all enjoyed the limbo, a few of you must have bruised your bottoms!

As all good things must come to an end so did our West Coast vacation. We certainly ended on a great "note." Key played a lovely tribute to us at our farewell party. The song "Memories" floating in the air! Let's all do it again soon.

Shelby.

Something for everyone in Alaska!

All of us Cheechakos had a great time visiting the great land of Alaska!  Cheechako is their local lingo for a newcomer to Alaska, which many of us were. We enjoyed the Inside Passage on Norwegian Cruise Line, including Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway and Prince Rupert. We toured the various downtown shopping districts which were located in historic buildings that date back to Alaska’s gold rush roots. Alaska has a bit of something for everyone. Practically nothing says Alaska more authentically than a real gold nugget. Susan took the opportunity to pan for gold and with the gold she collected, fashioned not only a beautiful necklace, but a lasting keepsake and conversation piece.

The excitement generated by the Alaskan frontier was great table talk each evening as we shared the feelings of awe and smallness in the face of the land. Float Planes, Ziplines, Rail Excursions (including biking 15 miles down the mountain through wildly physical challenges), and viewing the amazing scenery were just a few of the incredible things we did there.

Our group enjoyed taking in Sawyer Glacier from the private balcony of Susan’s suite, along with the wine and cheese she generously offered us.  The glacier was so close one could seemingly reach out and touch it. Truly a cruise of many “firsts” for this group. First time cruisers as well as the following: Brian in red lipstick, bra, and black heels. Ivan dancing the Mamba. Michelle singing her first EVER Karaoke song. Aside from becoming emerging music artists, dancers and getting in touch with ones inner showmanship, this cruise was definitely a “License to Chill!”

Ingrid our Alaskan leader, is looking forward to another great trip with you. She’ll be on board hosting another sailing just around the corner, one where warmer weather adorns us!

Memorial Day Memories!

We started out in Miami for a pre-cruise meet and greet and it was Barbie’s birthday! Happy Birthday Barbie! We were met by lots of rain but we all made the best of it and had a great time.

What excitement we had this cruise!  Our itinerary was changed around a bit during our first day at sea but luckily we didn’t miss a planned port.  We scurried around making sure everyone was aware of all the changes, and this group listened intently because they did not want to miss a party.

Our first destination was Cozumel where our SinglesCruise.com Beach Party was in full effect. The Chuckster formed a group bar side naturally!  The tequila started flowing early and for a few of our guests the party continued on. We all left the beach and some of us went to the infamous Carlos n' Charlies to end the day before returning to the ship, and a few others never made it back to the ship!  They watched it sail away in the distance. Thankfully they were all right, they just lost track of time, but boy were we glad to see them again in Belize. I don’t think they’ll ever miss a ship again, right guys?!

We had an incredible day in Belize enjoying a SinglesCruise.com Cave Tubing Tour.  It was incredible to check out the picture perfect caves as we floated along peacefully in our tubes. After the water adventure, we were starving so we headed to an authentic Belize restaurant for some delicious local cuisine and refreshing $2 beers.

Back on the ship, we had a rockin’ Country Western Hoe Down!  Yee Ha, Cole finally had somewhere to wear his Cowboy hat.  We had a blast and danced until we were hot hot hot! Linda won the $100 at our Crazy Hat Karaoke Party and Maria sang her heart out performing an Alanis Morissette rendition of “You Otta Know” that knocked our socks off!

Robin took us to the beautiful beach in Roatan Island which was a huge success and we saw the Stingrays in Grand Cayman which is always amazing.  I heard you all created some arts and crafts with those beer labels…..crazy cruisers!

We ended the cruise with the Chuckster performing James Brown’s “I feel good” …always a crowd pleaser!

Once again Ernie and I can not wait to cruise with you all soon. Best to you and yours!

The party started in the Big Apple!

It is not too much of an exaggeration to state that our singles group dynamic on our New York Exotic Caribbean cruise was truly dynamite! Ingrid and Tara were the SinglesCruise.com hosts this time and they couldn’t stop raving about this fantastic group. They gushed about everything from the NYC pre party until the cruise sailed back to the Big Apple eight days later.

The ship offered several comedy shows; however everyone was duly entertained by our own SinglesCruise comedians Anthony and Dave. They played so well off of each other that they could have charged admission and packed the show lounge no problem! No one escaped becoming the focus of at least one of their comedic assaults, but it was all in good fun of course.

We also boasted a real television “Actor” on the cruise, although because he is so humble we won’t mention him by name. Our SinglesCruise.com Adventures Ashore Catamaran in St. Thomas was definitely one of the highlights of the trip.

Formal nights were great fun too. One of our guests brought a fun new dress, however she didn’t bring the directions on how to put it on and with all the straps she ended up throwing it in a corner. We decided that might be a fun “game” to see which team could figure out how the dress is supposed to be worn.  The team that figured it out the fastest won a prize.

Our passenger "Frederico" loved SinglesCruise.com so much that he got off the ship, turned around and got right back on the Carnival Miracle to go out again! Now that is dedication to cruising and what we love to see!  Our Red Alert Theme definitely set off some alarms………it truly was hot, hot, hot…  There is so much to tell and so little space so  you will simply have to join us on a Singles Cruise and experience all the terrific fun for yourself!

New Orleans, here we come!

What a place, if you haven’t visited the infamous New Orleans you absolutely must!  Our group started out on popular Bourbon Street at Pat O’Brians (the dueling piano bar). This place was off the hook but it didn’t compare to the live band we saw just two pubs away. We danced until our feet were sore and our brows were wet!  Mike was an absolute dancing machine! He spun Lynn around in the air like a professional swing dancer, Lynn went right along with it. You two looked great but we all busted a move on that dance floor, old time live 80’s rock was in the house!

We boarded the Carnival Fantasy the next day and enjoyed the sunshine. This group bonded from the very start. So many nice people coming together makes for a fantastic cruise and many friendships. We already have five of them booked on the New Years Eve cruise with us this year. They already wanted a reunion set up and it was all orchestrated by one of our favorites, Kamela!

Our private SinglesCruise.com beach party in Cozumel was absolutely perfect.  There was sunshine, volleyball, laughter and a few attempts at flipping off that trampoline by one of our dare devils (Rob!)

It was Larry’s birthday and Barbara and Susan were so sweet they bought him a little gift and gave it to him at our Karaoke Party. That party was unbelievable, I will never be able to hear the rap song “Baby Got Back” without picturing Antoine and Maurice breaking it down while the girls and I shook our booties!  Good laughs were had by all.

It went by too quickly I can not wait to see many of this group again on the New Years Eve cruise.

Thank you all for a great cruise!

20’s and 30’s group full of energy!

Our annual 20’s and 30’s Spring Break cruise is always popular, and this year was no exception with almost 200 guests participating in our program.  Needless to say the energy was off the hook! When Shannon and Ann started dancing on the tables before 8 p.m., we knew this was going to be one heck of a party.

We had amazing weather and when we reached Key West we headed to the famous Duval Street for some fun on the town. When we arrived in Grand Cayman, the beautiful stingrays awaited us. The water was so crystal clear you almost couldn’t believe it. The stingrays were fascinating, we petted them, kissed them, and hugged them. I felt like we were one with the “ray!”

Our group of singles took part in another great excursion to Dunn’s River Fall’s in Ocho Rios.  We went tubing down the river and midway down many of us jumped off the 25 ft cliff!  Kyle almost gave me a heart attack, no more back flips PLEASE!  Dunn’s River Fall’s was exquisite, we were all surprised at how challenging it was.  Poor Amber got taken down but she is one tough cookie, she got right up and laughed it off, what a girl!

Back on the ship, our karaoke party was wicked!  I think the macho man rendition was the highlight.  The favorite costumes of the night were the Sheriff, the Slice of Cherry Pie, the one night STAND and the survivor!  You all really came out to have a great time, and Page, Tara and I enjoyed you thoroughly. See you all next year…..but I’m hopeful to see you sooner!

The spirit of friendly competition on the Spring Fling!

Feel the need to adjust the rhythm of your life? You’re not alone ……….you need a SinglesCruise vacation. Our recent Spring Fling cruise was hosted by Ingrid and Nancy. There were 160 singles onboard in our group who enjoyed the relaxed pace that a cruise can offer.

The guys pulled off a victory during an exciting round of the “Battle of the Sexes” game. They were definitely focused competitors! Men be prepared for wicked revenge next game. It’s on!  The Scavenger Hunt was awesome and brought out strategy, execution and teamwork as well as a new appreciation for the camaraderie and fellowship of sport. Did you know that “red boxers” could be made by being creative with a red pepper? Credit goes to Jihan and her team for that one! (I wonder if the dining manager missed the red pepper?)

The spirit of sport carried through to our private party with Vince, the “Piano Man” when our guests made a competition to see who could make the most successful basketball “shots” with their tips into the tip jar which was perched on the rotating piano! Needless to say it was full when we left the bar…and it was a large jar! Even the sky is no limit for this group of singles! Cruiseship Idol, waterslide races, you name it…..the options were endless. So what’s stopping you…we want to see you on the next adventure!

March Madness Cruise a Hit!

Our group first got together at the beautiful Oceans Ten venue in South Beach Miami Florida! Georgie and Karl traveled all the way from England but they were still ready to party!

We embarked the beautiful vessel the next day and our large group of singles mingled at the Swingtime Lounge.  We enjoyed one of the many Gala dinners that Carnival serves and sailed off towards Cozumel.

Our first day at sea was full of fun and our formal night commenced with a great group photo and then off to the Captains Cocktail Party.  We made it to Cozumel where we all participated in the singles cruise beach party.  What a blast, we even had a group join us after their excursion..that was the invention of "Dave" (FYI what Norma Jean referred to Todd as).

Back on board we learned that life is not fair in the game Battle of the Sexes; the women definitely beat the men!  But then again Jimmy and Steve took first place in our water slide races with a speedy time that could not be beat.  Our Karaoke party that night was a riot!  We loved Terri and Erica's rendition of "I Will Survive" in which even Cruise Director Tara got pulled up on stage to sing to Norma Jean and her entourage belting out the tunes.  Remember Mike and Ryan...which one of you is going to sing the song?!

Todd earned the title of the host with the most during our popular wine tasting event!  Thanks Todd, you’ll have to do it again next cruise.

All good things must come to an end but we sure left with great photos and fond memories!

More Winter Vacation Adventures

Our February 16th cruise was our sixth cruise in two months!  This is the most cruises we have ever had in an 8 week period. We have been expanding and I am proud to say that all six cruises were a huge success!

All of our single guests onboard this one were nothing less than fabulous. Everyone was especially looking forward to the exotic ports of Panama and Costa Rica.  The weather was beautiful and the ports of call were authentic and mind opening. The highlight for most of us was the SinglesCruise.com organized ziplining tour in Costa Rica. Be sure to check out some photos of us swinging through the trees on http://picasaweb.google.es/ralphtico/SinglesCruise. There are no words to explain how breathtaking the rainforest was!

We had a fantastic day at our SinglesCruise.com beach party in Cozumel!  Volleyball, jet-skis, suntanning and tequila – what a combination!  The port of Panama was another great day. Some of the guests went to explore the fascinating ‘Panama Canal’, and others chose to go shopping or hit the beach.

We still had plenty of fun and excitement onboard as well - Patrick and Leslie definitely won our hearts with their nurses costumes!  It was absolutely hysterical. Karaoke was also a hit.  Country night was great - we enjoyed some line dancing and laughed the night away.  I can’t wait to do it all again soon. Give us a call and let us know what you are looking forward to!

All the best, Shelby

Super Bowl Mania!

What a fired-up group this was, ready to watch the SuperBowl. When you only have three days to party you really make the most of it! We started with the lock and key party which was a hit. People were already dancing and it wasn’t even 6 p.m. You all made fast friends, and after dinner the casino bar was rockin. Sing along songs and hands waving in the air, this was an energetic group!

We sailed into the Bahamas where the weather was divine. We had a snorkel trip which was AMAZING….we saw sharks!  Only one of us had the courage to jump in with them but Stephanie took lots of great photos!

The big day was about to begin -- Super Bowl Madness!  We started out with our wine tasting crawl, Steve, Tae and Trev did a bang up job with their rooms.  They had crackers, cheese, fruit and pizza.  They sure know how to host a party!  This was just the beginning of a crazy night to come. Crazy Bill had everyone laughing, he went all out for his party, hosting in a mask and a bathrobe!  (You remember Bill, he was the one that wore his beads on his forehead.)  He’s giving Chuckster a run for his money, three cruises in a row!  Aaaah and the Chuckster was there representing as well.

The Super Bowl was AWESOME!  We took over the bar, Deb was a true fan, they heard her all the way in NYC!  It really was a fantastic way to spend such an excellent day.

A Great Winter Singles Cruise!

Our first encounter was at our high-energy cocktail party.  I planned a new ice breaker game and everyone was so excited that they started playing feverishly before the start time! We played that game three times and gave everyone a prize who got three matches or more.

After dinner we met at the casino bar and most of you had already found your playmates for the evening. The next morning we all enjoyed breakfast and then met for the Catalina excursion and a walkabout. We tendered everyone at the same time and got them there an hour early! Great, you had more time to shop. That night we had karaoke!

The next day was Ensenada, some of you went on the wine tour, others went to the blowhole, but most went shopping and to town. We walked to “Papas and Beers” but the action was across the street so we moved there. The sun was shining and the patio was warm…what fun. Some people stayed until the last minute but everyone got back on the boat on time, thank goodness!

During the last day at sea we had plenty of activities for all the singles. The favorite was Battle of the Sexes, it ended in a tie!  All in all, this group was fun and outgoing and very enjoyable to vacation with. Thank you Karen and Stuart!

Baby Boomers United at Sea!

We sailed on Royal Caribbeans’ Freedom of the Seas for our first Baby Boomer cruise.  This ship is MIND BLOWING!  I have sailed over 2,000 days at sea and I have been aboard at least 30 different ships and I think this ship is miles ahead of any I have ever seen.  It is like a mini Las Vegas.  The promenade deck is over 7 decks high. They had flying trapeze artists and parades, surfing, rock climbing, ice skating and more.  There are little wine bars, English style pubs, pizza parlors, cafes and of course more stores than you could possibly imagine.  This is seriously the coolest ship I have ever been on!

The Baby Boomer cruisers were AWESOME!  We laughed so much this cruise, it was unbelievable. We had our best dressed dancing queen “Dee.”  She could out-dance any one, any night, any time!

Carol, Pattie and Sylvie giggled the entire cruise.  They speak French as well, so we all brushed up on our vocabulary!

The guys really represented as they learned to dance onboard, but more importantly, they beat the pants off the ladies in our Battle of the Sexes tournament.  Very impressive gentlemen!

Our beach party in St. Maarten was definitely the highlight of the cruise. The weather was amazing and the beach was incredible!

We watched Cameron surf.  He was a natural, which is amazing as he comes from good old Canada!  Larry was a love and our California beauties really kept laughter alive.  They played a joke on Lori and Ellen the last night….but those two New Yorkers already had a comeback!  Gotta love it.

I know you will all be back for more SinglesCruise.com fun!  We are hoping to do another special Baby Boomers sailing next year around the same time, so keep checking the web site.

Until next time, Shelby

A Weekend of Adventure!

I think it’s time to ask yourself something this year?  “Are you missing the music and the celebration of life?” Than you should have joined us on the recent four day Carnival Inspiration! No agendas, day timers or palm pilots in sight, just adventure on our schedule of events.

Speaking of events, we got our “Saturday Night Fever” dance on, as well as our cowboy hats for some Country Line dance lessons! Yee-Haw!

The excitement was almost electric and the laughter contagious. You know who you are!

Equally impressive was our very own Celebrity, “Billy-Ray,” who caused quite a buzz as one of the hosts of the Cabin Crawl. These two guests were a full blown party just waiting to happen, and happen it did! This dynamic duo forged a lifetime of friendships among us and was very instrumental in making this short but sweet cruise enjoyable and memorable.

This was Ingrid’s “coming out cruise.”  She is now an official Cruise Director.  Welcome to the team Ingrid!

She has developed a wonderful New Years Resolution for all of you to follow. “I will begin to indulge my desires and join in on one of the many adventures SinglesCruise.com has to offer this year. I resolve to live adventurously and get to know the intangible rewards making new friends for life brings!”

Thank you for being a part of something so special, we can not wait to sail with you again.

A Great Start to the New Year!

Picture this, 3,000 people out on the open decks, dancing to a live Jamaican band, the wind in their hair and the temperature close to 85 degrees.  This is definitely the best way to take in the New Year.  5-4-3-2-1 Happy New Year!!!!! What a wonderful night.

The cruise began with a bang.  The first night there were already couples leaving the party holding hands….no time to waste as New Years Eve was only one night away.  We had a great lock and key party turn out and there was energy in the air awaiting the big New Years Eve PARTY!

Our first speed meeting was held after returning from Nassau.  The event was very well attended and people really started to meet each other and bond. Although of course, some of you were chasing the sun, Jane and Sherri especially!  Simultaneously, Chuckster, Jim, Michelle and Katherine were chasing the bar staff!  It was quite a crew.

St. Thomas and St. Maarten were wonderful as usual, and some of the ladies came back dripping with gorgeous jewels.

Our wine tasting cabin crawl was a hit and karaoke was a blast!  We really wanted Kevin to try out for Frank Sinatra…next time Kevin!  We had a few awesome SinglesCruise representatives in the Legends show and we even had our own Madonna!

I got pinned an official “Night Owl”!  I’ve been trying for over a year to get into that club and Bruna, the president,  pinned me the last night.  She made me work for it! Thank you Bruna.

It was another great success. What a way to spend January 1st 2008!  I wish you all the best this year, see you soon.

A December Vacation to Remember!

This cruise was nothing less than perfection!  At our farewell party many of our cruisers were actually in tears…you know it was a good cruise when the thought of going home makes you cry.

There was sunshine all week long, the weather could not have been better.

All the singles activities were very well attended this week.  We started with the lock and key party mixer which was wild.  Pictionary was a laugh and the Battle of the Sexes game got ugly as usual as the men and women duked it out!  The women won this time and the men didn’t take it well. They all got over it at Senior Frogs in San Juan as everyone partied like rock stars!  Helen was dancing on the chairs and others were dancing on the tables!  It was a fun night to remember.

Most of our crew ended up at Sapphire beach in St. Thomas where they went jet skiing and snorkeling. St. Martin was surreal, showing off the bluest ocean you have ever seen.

Our onboard Angels and Devils party was a hit – it was a sea of red and speckles of white.  No surprise we definitely had more devils than angels!  Jamie and Emma won first place for their costume but everyone looked amazing!  Salsa night was also a favorite, you guys know how to cut up a rug!  Then on to our infamous pub crawl and wine tasting which most of you enjoyed together.

It was a truly beautiful vacation. Page and I enjoyed spending time with you all and we can’t wait until the next one!  We truly thought you guys were an exceptional group.  Thank you for sailing with us. Until next time…Hip Hip Horrray!

Four Days in the Sun with Singles From LockandKeyEvents.com!

One thing is for sure – that this cruise was HOT HOT HOT!  Literally.  The ship experienced a few minor problems with its air conditioning systems, but it did not stop us from having a blast!  We changed the location of our first Lock and Key event from the disco (which we renamed the sauna), to the outside deck so we could enjoy the fresh air and the beautiful night!

Although we missed Key West, we stayed longer at fun-filled Cozumel, Mexico!  What a day and what a night. Most of our group started the day off at our SinglesCruise.com beach party.  Beach Volleyball was in full effect and so were those tequila shooters.  Dr. Allan was prescribing them to our little Robin! (At least it was medically supervised.) I saw some serious trampoline action from Christine, you go girl!

We then danced like crazy at a top island hangout - Carlos and Charlie’s. I actually had to steal the microphone from the DJ to get you guys out of there and back to the ship!  It was a wonderful day.

The last day at sea most of you lounged at the pool..soaking up the sun and some fun people watching. Some of you actually even made money in the casino….huh hum…Tom, boy he was lucky!

We had a great long weekend cruise and I hope you all return for a longer one to have fun and meet more singles. This was just a little taste of SinglesCruise.com for most of you.  The winner of our $100 gift certificate for wearing his beads the entire cruise was Don Varner!

Hope to see you soon!

Halloween Fun for Everyone!

Happy Halloween!  Wow what a cruise, we had nearly 500 fun and energetic single travelers aboard the beautiful Carnival Glory.  This was one heck of a party!

Many of us started the festivities the night before the cruise set sail at City Walk in Orlando - where we danced the night away!  Once onboard, our first singles get-together was a welcome cocktail party out in the open air on the Lido Deck.  It was a great way to start our Halloween extravaganza and get all of our singles mingling with one another.

The next morning we anchored in beautiful and sunny Nassau, Bahamas.  The weather rocked and so did our gathering at Senior Frogs.  You guys danced on tables and sang at the top of your lungs, surprisingly, everyone made it back to the ship!

Our first formal night was amazing, so many beautiful dresses and the men were all decked out as well.  The weather was a bit dreary for our first day at sea but that worked in our favor as almost 400 of you came down to the disco for our lock and key meet and greet.  Speed meeting was next, and then on to Merengue class where Hector and Nicole really heated the dance floor up!

Yee haw - Country night was a hit!    You all looked fantastic with your slick wild west looks, lasso’s and all.  It was a riot!

There were amazing costumes to be seen at the big Halloween bash.  Carolina was a winner in her Wicked Witch of the West get-up, and Robert was a hoot, coming as the infamous SinglesCruiser Chuckster!  It was a night to be remembered.

We stopped at St. Thomas where most of the gang hung out at Megan’s Bay.  St. Maarten was next, where the right to bear all was all yours!  The sun was shining and the laughter was flowing.

Back onboard, our late night Karaoke party was a hit.  There were so many stars in our group, so little time.  Christina and Kevin ended up singing their tune in the ships talent show too!

All in all, we rocked and we rolled, the ship did too.  We were lucky, we missed the storm and had wonderful weather for all of the important port days.

You guys were an excellent group, we all had a great time and many new friendships were formed.  We can’t wait to do it all again next year!

Once again, a big thank you to our Cruise Directors Diane, Ingrid, Nancy, Marilyn and Page who assisted me in making this popular Halloween sailing a huge success!

See you soon!

A Fiesta to Remember

We all had a great time sailing together recently to the Mexican Riviera!  The celebration started at a beautiful restaurant called the Light House Point, which was an actual lighthouse!  The cruisers actually got to sleep on the famous Queen Mary II ship that is now a hotel before embarking on their journey to Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, and Cabo San Lucas.  I heard that Page pulled the fire alarm at 5am!  Just kidding, it wasn’t him but surely it was one of our pranksters!

The balmy weather was excellent in Mazatlan – perfect for taking in the rays on the beach, jet skiing, swimming or just plain relaxing.  We discovered some great karaoke talent on this cruise - I think American Idol has some more competition!  Our repeat cruisers Patrick and Shannon kept the Piano Bar alive as usual this cruise, thank you to them!

We are busy getting ready for our Halloween cruise just around the corner – over 450 singles onboard this one – wow, it is sure to be one great cruise!  I know many of you are having fun picking out your Halloween costumes.  I can’t wait to see what our creative group comes up with this year!

See you soon!

SinglesCruise.com Takes On the Big Apple!

New York City baby….the glitz, the glam, their electricity bill must be through the roof!  Aaahh what a place, full of energy, people, and great deals on watches!

Many of us met up in the Big Apple at Kennedy’s Irish Pub and the vibe was great as we were all excited for our upcoming singles cruise adventure!  We boarded our beautiful vessel and watched the Statue of Liberty sail off in the distance.  Then it was party time, our first couple days at sea were great - we had over 100 people at our first speed meeting and then we danced the “Merengue!”

We had a very interactive bunch of singles on this cruise.  It was apparent from our first game of “Battle of the Sexes” that this gang was passionate!  Thankfully our team Captains, Heather and Diego, kept everything in order!  John was disappointed that we couldn’t have a rematch but we were afraid the passion would just be too much!

Rich and Claudia were a perfect match from the very beginning, they were attached by the hip the entire cruise and so cute.  We can’t wait to hear what the future holds for them.

We arrived in San Juan and many people in the group made a dash for Senior Frogs!  Who knew George could cut a rug!?  You guys were such great fun.  We enjoyed our next stops in beautiful St. Thomas and Tortuga as they were both delightfully sunny.

Wine tasting went fantastic, Lenny went all out and shared his winnings with the group from the casino, you’re the man!

Country night on the cruise was a blast!  The cruisers had fun showing off their line dancing and two-stepping moves all night.  Geoffrey was our star dancer making sure the dance floor was full!

Our themed karaoke pirates party proved to be great fun with an array of wild costumes to check out.  You all sure do know how to have a good time getting to know one another!

Can’t wait to sail with you again, great group, great times!

A four day beach escape!

This past four day weekend cruise with friends from Events & Adventures and the Young Professionals was WILD!  Our first speed meeting session led into “musical men” which was absolutely hysterical!  After enjoying a delicious dinner, we all danced the night away in the disco.  Events & Adventures and the Young Professionals sure do know how to get their groove on!

Our first stop was Key West which was beautiful with so much to do.  Next, we visited sunny Cozumel, which we were all very relieved to see was still there after the close call with the hurricane!  Some of you soaked up the sun and all the bottled water you could drink while some went with the rum punch and free beer. All in all, another relaxing, gorgeous day.

Many romances evolved over the short period of time and lots of laughter was heard especially around the Schooner bar, which we definitely took over.  Toga night was excellent - Lynn and Sean won best dressed though it really was a tough call.  Tim S. even made his own Roman fashion statement.

You were all an absolute blast and we hope to see you again on another SinglesCruise.com sailing!

A SinglesCruise.com European Adventure

It started out in the romantic city of Roma, where men and women drive mopeds and drink cappuccino.  The beautiful little streets were just wide enough to “squeak” by in our large tour bus.  Most of us held our breath, clinched our fists, and looked toward the Vatican for guidance!  Boy oh boy can those Italians drive.

Our first port stop was Naples where many of us visited the ancient ruins of Pompeii.  Debby thankfully found her way because we would have missed her smiling face if we left her there! That evening we had our first 50’s and 60’s Sock Hop.  We twisted the night away!  Patty and Queenie went all out and won themselves 1st prize in our costume contest.

The day at sea gave us time to meet and socialize.   We had a fantastic turn-out for our speed meeting followed by a relaxing ice cream social. Turkey was astonishing, Ephesus was unbelievable, almost as if they glued it back together again.  Istanbul had the shoppers in a frenzy, they have the largest bazaar in the World. So many rugs and so little time. The Blue Mosque was magnificant, it was an all around beautiful day.

Greece was a hit with our cruises too!  Many more ruins to see and much more to learn.  The ancient people sure did work hard.  It was great that Beth joined us for lunch in the Plakta!  Or masquerade party was a very fun event. Many people wore beautiful masks from Venice so it was truly a grand occasion.

The overwhelming response from our singles cruisers at the end of this sailing was that “it was the best vacation they’ve ever had.”  Those words warm our hearts and tickle our ear drums.  On behalf of SinglesCruise.com we thank you for sailing with us and hope that you continue to bless us with your presence, it wouldn’t be the same with out you!

Caribbean Sunshine in June!

Hi Cruisers,

What a fantastic 6-day Caribbean cruise for June!  Many friendships were formed as this was definitely a singles group that connected with each other. The weather started off on a rainy note, but not too worry, as the skies brightened up in time to explore Stingray City in Grand Cayman.

Singles Cruiser Sherri celebrated her birthday with the gang on Grand Cayman at Senior Frogs for only $25.88! (That’s American money!)  We also had an excellent time at our onboard Pirates Party!  I couldn’t believe the creative costumes that everyone came in.  Ken was our dashing pirate king and Michelle was his beautiful wench!  What a team.

Chuck represented our group in the talent show as he performed his rendition of “Great Balls of Fire”…way to go Chuckster!  The group requested Sharon and Scott to brave the stage too, but they saved their singing skills for our karaoke parties. You guys were all fabulous, keep on singing!

The Costa Maya beach party was a hit!  Everyone had a great time hanging out in that crystal clear blue beach water. Our Hawaiian karaoke party was a sad farewell during the last night of the cruise.  No one wanted the cruise to end.  But there’s always another cruise right around the corner.

I hope to see you again very soon. Thank you for all your great energy…until next time!

Memorial Day Fun for Everyone!

Greetings Single cruisers!

I just got back from the Memorial Day cruise, and it was excellent!

From the very beginning I could tell that this group was here for one main reason, to have fun, fun, fun!

The first cocktail party was a hit, followed by lively dancing in the disco. We headed toward Cozumel where most of us went to an excellent beach party. A few dare devils in our group hit the open sky to try out parasailing above the warm Cozumel waters. Traci went up at 300 feet parasailing for the very first time! You go girl!

Next was Grand Cayman, where many of us swam with the Stingrays. Our Mexican Fiesta party rocked with crazy karaoke…I loved when we all got up to sing “Summer Nights”! It was great fun singing with the girls against the boys. During our musical rendition, Brad and Snoma tore up the dance floor! Unfortunately Chuck’s voice was gone but Kevin gave us a few solo numbers that ended up making him a star as our very own Frank Sinatra in the Carnival Legends show. Great job Kevin!

Finally, the sun came out in Jamaica and we all had a fabulous time exploring Dunn’s River Falls. What a day, not a cloud in the sky. That night the piano bar was a big hit with our singles as we sang songs all night long.

It was truly a flawless cruise. I can’t wait to sail with you again. All of our guests truly make these cruises the vacation of a lifetime!

Talk to you soon,

Shelby
