SinglesCruise.com Shares Real-Life Stories of Love Connections Made at Sea
New Year’s 2015 Cruise Will Usher in Potential for New Romance
October 15, 2014--Today, SinglesCruise.com is sharing real-life tales of guests who have met through the company’s singles cruises and now have the perfect ending to their love stories: they’ve tied the knot. With the company’s perennially popular New Year’s cruise just two months away, SinglesCruise.com is recommending ringing in the New Year at sea – whether in search of a soul mate or simply an unsurpassed experience with other singles. Nearly 400 singles are expected on the December 27 SinglesCruise.com sailing out of Fort Lauderdale, FL.
“Although SinglesCruise.com is best known for the lifelong friendships that we help foster during our cruises, one of the top questions we’re asked is whether our guests ever fall in love and get married,” said Jody Ryland, Vice President, SinglesCruise.com. “For many, traveling and exploring what the world has to offer – with other like-minded travel enthusiasts – as part of a SinglesCruise.com sailing, has led to more than just memorable experiences, it has created lasting and loving partnerships.”
There is no SinglesCruise.com sailing that can lay claim to sowing the most love connections. However, one couple will be celebrating their match aboard the upcoming New Year’s cruise. That’s because Karin and Russ Stevens of Port Hueneme, CA, not only met on the 2009-2010 SinglesCruise.com New Year’s sailing, but they got married on last year’s SinglesCruise.com New Year’s sailing. This year, they will travel with the SinglesCruise.com group while celebrating their one-year anniversary.
Karin Stevens described the first moment she spotted her future husband on the SinglesCruise.com New Year’s voyage – they were in the cruise ship’s disco: “That's when he caught my eye. He was dancing up a storm and getting everyone involved. He was funny and brazen. I couldn't help but be entertained watching him.”
Stevens also mentioned how the friendships she and her husband made through SinglesCruise.com have been an important part of their social circle: “We’ve met a lot of great people on the cruises with SinglesCruise.com and we enjoy seeing them again each year. It has turned into our yearly tradition, and also now our anniversary trip.”
Daniel and Sheyla Hamilton of Houston, TX, also met on a New Year’s sailing with SinglesCruise.com, in December 2012. Daniel said the exclusive SinglesCruise.com onboard activities played a large part in their ability to spend time together: “We attended all of the SinglesCruise.com theme parties; we had already booked separate excursions, but we met up after those as well. The informal time was best – watching the karaoke, pre-dinner cocktails with other SinglesCruise.com guests, and during dinner – those were all easy times for us to interact.”
Daniel Hamilton recommended that for someone going on a singles cruise, the best strategy for meeting people may be a low-key one: “Don’t go looking for a boyfriend or girlfriend. Go with the intention of having fun, relaxing and meeting new friends. The rest will take care of itself. I met my wife on about my 12th singles cruise, but she met me on her first. So you never know.” Ryland noted that due to the strong friendships people make on SinglesCruise.com sailings, repeat business is very high – about 60%.
Sue and Carl Schumann of Fort Myers, FL, met on a SinglesCruise.com sailing in 2011. The couple took advantage of SinglesCruise.com’s private online forum for cruise guests, prior to their sailing, which allows clients to get to know one another before embarkation. During the cruise their romance blossomed while they continued to participate in the exclusive theme parties and dined with other SinglesCruise.com guests. “Neither of us set out to meet Mr. or Mrs. Right,” said Sue Schumann. “We just wanted to have some fun and feel young and carefree again.” The Schumanns exchanged vows in 2013.
Cruise and travel enthusiasts interested in meeting like-minded individuals are welcome to join this year’s SinglesCruise.com New Year’s cruise. The 8-night Southern Caribbean cruise departs on December 27, 2014, and features port calls in Turks & Caicos, the Dominican Republic, Aruba and Curacao. Activities exclusive to SinglesCruise.com guests include complimentary cocktail parties, theme nights, private group dance lessons, speed meeting, karaoke parties, group dinners, and many other informal gatherings aboard the ship throughout the week.
